About This Workshop
As a professional health communicator, having a strong social media presence is a way to not only provide credible and practical messages to large audiences, but to also combat the myths and fads that abound and to be a counterpoint voice of reason. In this workshop, Tim will outline some top tips on how to work with, not against social media, and why you should be considering delving into the world of social media as a professional.
About A/Prof. Tim Crowe
Tim is a nutrition academic in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Deakin University. He marries a medical research background in molecular biology and clinical nutrition together with teaching roles in the areas of nutritional biochemistry as well as the applied role of nutrition in disease prevention and management. Tim has an active media profile and is regularly interviewed for nutrition health stories on TV, radio and newspapers. Tim is a nutrition academic at Deakin University and also an Advanced APD. He marries a medical research background in molecular endocrinology and clinical nutrition together with teaching roles in the areas of nutritional biochemistry as well as the applied role of nutrition in disease prevention and management. Tim has an active media profile together with a growing social media following from his Thinking Nutrition blog, Facebook page and Twitter which he uses to communicate important nutrition messages to the public in plain and simple language.
