About: Former AMWA president (2005–2009), Tina Allen will share with us her journey from medical writer to author. She has spent seven years researching and writing Bill Gibson: pioneering bionic ear surgeon and it is a great accomplishment to have it published through NewSouth Press (NSP) – one of the two publishing arms of the University of NSW. Tina will tell us about learning to write in a new genre and what she believes was the crucial step in securing a book publishing contract with NSP which deservedly won 2016 Small Publisher of the Year in the Australian Book Industry Awards.
