Call for nominations: AMWA President and Vice President 2019-2020
After four years at the helm, Michelle and Sarah will be stepping down from their roles as President and Vice President in August.
We would therefore like to extend an invitation to anyone who is interested in volunteering for either of these roles to get in touch now and express their interest so we can work together in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition and a strong future for AMWA.
AMWA is in a very healthy position financially, and we have implemented many systems over the past few years to ensure the committee, association and conference run efficiently and smoothly.
We encourage anyone with an interest in deepening their knowledge of the industry, raising their profile in the medical writing community in Australia and NZ, or who has innovative ideas to take our association into 2020 and beyond to get in touch.
Think you’re too busy? We’ve noticed over our years of volunteering that the busiest people are those who get things done!
Please email amwapresident@medicalwriters.org to express your interest and learn more.
Upcoming Webinar - Statistics for Medical Writers
AMWA is pleased to bring you the first webinar of 2026. Presented by Dr Richard Kay, this webinar will give you a clear, logical structure
for thinking about statistical methodology in pharmaceutical R&D. You'll be introduced to methods used in different settings, which are
driven by the endpoint type, with a particular focus on binary (odds ratios, relative risks) and time to event (Kaplan-Meier curves, hazard
ratios) endpoints. Ideas behind p-values, confidence intervals, and powering a study to detect important levels of effect will be covered.
Each concept will be illustrated with case studies.
