AMWA 2018-2019 – Call for Volunteers
AMWA is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led association. Our dedicated team of volunteers help to ensure the continuous operation of the association.
AMWA is looking for new volunteers to join the Executive Committee and assist with the following duties:
- Help organise the 2019 annual conference
- Update social media
- Send the AMWA email newsletter
- Organise PDP webinars
- Organise local networking events
The benefits of joining AMWA’s Executive Committee
As an AMWA volunteer committee member, you’ll enjoy:
- Complementary access to all PDP webinars – online and at the annual conference
- Discounted conference registration – 50% off your registration fee
Becoming involved with AMWA also gives you opportunities for personal development and growth, and exposure to all AMWA’s behind-the-scenes activities.
AMWA’s Executive Committee is a fun, supportive team who are both new and experienced writers.
You don’t have to have years of medical writing experience to volunteer with AMWA – we encourage writers who are just starting out to nominate.
How to nominate
The 2018-2019 Committee will be elected at the Annual General Meeting which will be held after day one of our annual conference on Friday, 24 August at 5pm.
If you are interested in joining AMWA’s 2018-2019 Executive Committee, please complete a nomination form and email it to email@example.com.
You can also email Michelle Guillemard, AMWA President – firstname.lastname@example.org – for more information about volunteering with AMWA.
In discussion with Dr Ben Bravery - 9 February 2023 in Sydney
You are invited to hear from Dr Ben Bravery, the author of 'The Patient Doctor', on Thursday 9 February 2023 from 6pm - 8pm. This event is
hosted by the Australasian Medical Writers' Association and is open to all.
Ben will be talking about his experience as a cancer patient, and how this has impacted how he now interacts with the healthcare system as a
doctor. Ben is a strong advocate for putting the patient at the heart of healthcare. This event will also be an opportunity to network and
socialise with medical writers.
