Trained in Manchester, I’ve worked as a GP both in the U.K. and Australia with 16 years of clinical experience. As a family physician, I have a wide understanding of health / wellness and medicine.
I’m happy to write about most medical specialties. I also have particular interests in mental health, chronic and/or complex medical issues, women’s health and health promotion.
I believe in accurate and clear communication using quality evidence-based sources. I’m used to absorbing new information and complex ideas under time pressure, and I know when and how to research a topic further.
It’s important to me to fulfil a client’s specific needs, whether it’s producing an article for a particular website or magazine, preferences on tone (such as friendly or professional), keyword usage, audience and of course deadlines.
Regarding my writing experience, I’ve ghost-written health and medical articles, web content on www.dralicelam.com and patient information leaflets for my patients, I understand the need for simple terms without losing the detail. One of my latest articles has been published in the Consumers Health Forum of Australia’s biannual newsletter at http://healthvoices.org.au/volume/issues/health-literacy-may-2019/.
