Amanda has 14 years experience as a reporter, editor and publishing manager, including five years in London and three years as Editor of the Australian Nursing Journal. During her editorship, the ANJ won the ACTU media award for 'best union publication'.
She writes regularly for various publications including Australian Doctor, The Age, The Lancet. News and features have also been published in The Guardian (UK) (science and technology section), Men's Health, Campus Review and various custom publishing magazines and newspapers.
Amanda is Editor of the bestselling book: From the Heart, true stories by Australian nurses (Lothian 1997) and Tales from the Blackboard -True Stories by Austran nurses (Lothian 1997) and Tales from the Blackboard -True Stories by Australian Teachers (Pan Macmillan 1998).
Amanda can tackle a broad range of subjects for lay and specialist audiences:

  • complementary therapies.

She also has experience running workshops on writing for nurses and doctors, plus project management for newsletters and magazines: - from inception to distribution including editorial/ print/ photography/design/ marketing etc.
