Qualifications
Carole is a freelance health, business, finance and travel journalist, proofreader, editor, researcher and lecturer. She has been a health writer for over 20 years, specialising in occupational health and safety (OH&S), health promotion, health finance, smoking control, stress, mental health.
Carole worked in Germany for two years in animal nutrition research, and has carried out research into OH&S and health promotion in Sweden, Germany, Japan, Canada, US and Australia.
Carole also has written feature articles for a range of publications including The Australian Financial Review, The Age, Herald Sun, Health at Work (National Heart Foundation publication),Australian Journal of Workplace Health and Safety, Australian Doctor, Australian Safety News, Prime Time, WorkWords (OH&S Authority publication) and CCH OHS Magazine, CCH OHS Alert, CCH On-line, Government News, Corporate Outsourcing.
Carole currently reports on OHS for Safety News and on Human Resources Management (HRM)/ OHS for the Australian Human Resources Magazine plus on HRM and mental health across Asia Pacific region for Asian business publisher CCH Asia in Singapore. Her work has also been published in the Japan Employers Manual. She is a co-host on 3CR Radio's Pet and Animal Welfare Show and is completing the 3CR Radio Announcer's Course.
Carole lectures on freelance journalism and feature writing at Holmesglen TAFE and on Japan Travel / Cross Cultural awareness at CAE in Melbourne. She has completed the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Carole has also taught Tourism, Cross Cultural awareness and Health Promotion.
She also carried out research and OH&S writing projects for the ACTU, speech writing for the NSW Health Department, was PR officer for the Workers' Health Centre in Lidcombe, NSW, and was involved in launching, developing and promoting employee health and fitness for the Victorian Department of Youth Sport and Recreation. In addition, Carole has conducted economic development and trade marketing/public relations for Federal Government and Municipal councils.
Carole also edits English written by Japanese, and lectures on Japanese cross-cultural awareness. She speaks fluent German and conversational French and Japanese. Increasingly she is writing for a range of international publications.
